Aida Alagić studied German Language and Literature and Comparative Literature at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Zagreb (Croatia), where she graduated with distinction in 2017 with a thesis on the capital forms in Peter Weiss’ Aesthetics of Resistance. She is a doctoral candidate at the University of Zagreb, where she’s also working as a research assistant at Department for German Language and Literature at the Faculty for Humanities and Social Sciences. Her doctoral thesis, supervised by prof. dr. sc. Christine Magerski, will explore the notion of Weltliteratur and its characteristics and peculiarities in the wake of the emergence of global society. Her current research interests include sociology of literature and culture and literary theory.
