Franz M. Eybl researches and taught modern German literature at the University of Vienna. His research interests include the early modern period (poetry, mediality and rhetoric) and the 18th century (Austrian Enlightenment, German Classicism), Thomas Bernhard as well as the history of books and media. Eybl is currently a research fellow at the Herzog August Bibliothek Wolfenbüttel and is working on a project on the circulation of knowledge around 1700.
