Mag.a Dr.in Katharina Fritsch

Katharina Fritsch is a project researcher at the Department for European Policy and the Study of Democracy at the Danube University Krems. From May 2014 to June 2017, she was involved in the platform “Mobile Culture and Societies” as a project researcher in the FWF project “Popular Culture in Translocal Spaces”. In connection with this project, she did her doctorate at the Department of Political Science on political and cultural mobilisations of “Franco-Comorian diasporas” in Marseille as a form of biopolitical (self-)government. In addition, she has been an external lecturer at the University of Vienna and an associated post-doctoral researcher at the Centre Marc Bloch (Berlin). Her research interests involve critical migration and diaspora studies, postcolonial and intersectional approaches as well as (de)democratisation processes and states of exception.
