Dr.ⁱⁿ Ricarda de Haas

Ricarda de Haas earned her PhD at Bayreuth International Graduate School for African Studies (BIGSAS) with a dissertation on Performance Poetry and Social Media in Southern Africa (Monography 2018, published by Wissenschaftsverlag Trier). She teaches Gender Studies at the Department of English and American Studies at Philipps-Universität Marburg. From 2017 to 2020 she was a Lecturer at the Department of African Studies at the University of Vienna. Her research areas include Performance Studies, Mediality and Intermediality in African Literatures and Cultures, Gender Studies, and Postcolonial Studies. Her current research project focuses on Transgressions of Media within Digital Literatures and Cultures of Africa and the African Diaspora.
