Shiqi Yu studied German Studies in Cultural Comparison with a focus on Comparative Literature, Intercultural Communication, and Foreign Language Didactics at the Ruprecht-Karls-University of Heidelberg, where she received her Master's degree in 2018 with the thesis "Male Identity Crisis in Contemporary European Literature. A Comparative Interpretation of Ian McEwan's The Comfort of Strangers and Michael Kleeberg's Barefoot". Since October 2019, she is a Ph.D. student in Comparative Literature and Cultural Studies at the University of Freiburg. In her current research project, she is investigating the reciprocal references of space, gender and identity in the selected migration narratives of contemporary authors. Her research interests: Crossing borders (intermedial, interdisciplinary, intercultural), the social relevance in literature and cultural studies, psychoanalytical literary studies, narrative research, gender studies, subject philosophy, literature and theory.
